01Attach the Top Lip to Level 3

1. Locate the top lip and Level 3.
2. Align label 0 on the top lip with label 0 on Level 3.
3. Insert the dovetail into the matching opening, then slide it into place.
4. Tap with a rubber mallet until the joint is fully seated and both parts are flush.

02Attach the Three Levels to Part A

1. Lay the left side, Part A, flat with its labeled openings facing up. Use a firm, flat surface with a thin sheet underneath to protect the wood. Avoid carpet or a cushiony surface that absorbs the force of the mallet.
2. Align label 1 on Level 1 with label 1 on Part A.
3. Insert the dovetail into the matching opening, slide it into place, and tap with the rubber mallet until seated.
4. Repeat for Level 2 and Level 3, matching each level's label to the same number on Part A.

03Slide in the Back Panels

1. Locate the two ¼-inch plywood back panels.
2. Slide one panel down through the rear grooves between Levels 1 and 2. Slide the other through the rear grooves between Levels 2 and 3.
3. As each panel slides down, check for sawdust coming out of the grooves and collecting at the bottom. Clear away all loose sawdust before sliding the panel all the way down. If necessary, lift the panel back up to clean underneath it.
4. Slide both panels fully into place. With Part A still lying flat, check that the upper edge of each back panel is flush with the exposed ends of the adjacent levels at both ends, where Part B will fit.
5. If one end is flush but the other is not, the assembly may be leaning slightly. Gently adjust the levels from side to side until they stand square to the floor (90°), then check again. Both ends of each panel should now be flush.

04Attach Part B

Insert all dovetails first

1. Position the remaining side, Part B, over the exposed ends of the three levels.
2. Start at Level 1. Align its dovetail with the matching opening in Part B and fit the dovetail into the opening. Do not slide it into its locked position yet.
3. Keep one hand on top of Part B, applying steady downward pressure so the dovetail you have already inserted does not come back out.
4. While maintaining that pressure, adjust Level 2 until its dovetail enters the matching opening. Then repeat for Level 3.
5. Confirm that all three levels' dovetails are inside their openings before you begin sliding any of them into place.

Slide and seat the joints

1. Continue pressing downward on Part B so the side panel stays as close and flush to the levels as possible.
2. While holding that pressure, tap the edges of the levels with the rubber mallet to slide the dovetails into their locked positions.

05Fully Seat All Dovetail Joints

1. Once Part B is attached, carefully lay the toy shelf on its back on your protected, firm surface.
2. Using the rubber mallet, give firm, controlled taps to the edge of each level near the left side: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.
3. Repeat at the right side of all three levels. That is six tapping locations total—three on each side.
4. Check that every dovetail has slid all the way into place and that the joints are snug and fully seated.

06Install the Dividers

You can leave the toy shelf on its back or stand it upright for this step.

Start with the upper divider

1. Locate the single divider that fits between Levels 2 and 3.
2. Check the divider's curved shape and orientation before inserting it. Refer to the assembly video to confirm which way it faces.
3. Align the bottom of the divider with its groove in Level 2 and insert it.
4. Push the top of the divider into the corresponding groove in Level 3 until it clicks into place.

Install the two lower dividers

1. Locate the two dividers that fit between Levels 1 and 2.
2. Check each divider's orientation. Align its bottom with the corresponding groove in Level 1 and insert it.
3. Push the top into the matching groove in Level 2 until it clicks into place. Repeat for the second lower divider.
4. Check that all three dividers are seated in both their upper and lower grooves.

07Attach the Wall Anchor

1. Stand the toy shelf upright and place it in its intended location.
2. Attach one end of the included wall anchor to the toy shelf's top lip.
3. Secure the other end to the wall, following the anchor's installation instructions and using fasteners appropriate for your wall type.
4. Check that the anchor is secure and all shelf joints and dividers are fully seated before use.
