Bookshelf Assembly Instructions

01Assemble the Frame

Start with Piece A

  • Pull out the small pieces with arrows on them—they are only for shipping purposes to keep the part safe. Remove them from both ears.
  • Lay Piece A flat with the holes facing up.
  • Locate Part 1 and match it with the corresponding hole labeled "1" on Piece A, ensuring the numbers mirror each other.
  • Insert Part 1 into the hole. If needed, tap it with a mallet until fully seated and flush. If needed, don’t hesitate to give it a firm tap with a mallet until it’s fully seated and flush. For best results, aim for the notches when tapping.
  • Repeat the process for Parts 2 and 3, aligning them carefully and tapping them into place.
  • While inserting each piece, don’t worry if they don’t interlock perfectly—once you put Piece B in place, everything will align properly. Just continue assembling.
  • Continue inserting all Parts 1-13 in the same manner
Make sure each part is inserted completely until flush with the surface, as shown in the video.

Attach Piece B

  • Position and Align: Place Piece B on top of Parts 1-13, ensuring all notches align with the holes. Hold Piece B down with one hand (preferably someone can assist you for this step) to keep it steady.
  • Start Tapping Gradually: Begin tapping from one side—starting with Part 13—and work your way across. Use light taps at first to guide each notch into its hole.
  • Work Evenly Across: Avoid tapping one side all the way in before moving to the other. If you push one side in too much before the rest is aligned, it may cause the other side to pop out. Instead, move across step by step, ensuring all parts are partially seated before applying firmer taps.
  • Check Alignment as You Go: As you reach the middle, double-check that Part 1 is correctly aligned. If any notch is off, it can prevent others from fitting. Adjust as needed before proceeding.
  • Final Secure Fit: Once all notches are correctly seated in their holes, go back and firmly tap across the entire piece to fully secure Piece B in place.
Pro Tip: Use even pressure while attaching Piece B to ensure it sits flush on all connectors. Do not be afraid to tap firmly—as long as you are using a rubber mallet, the plywood is strong enough to handle the force.

Secure Piece C

  • Stand the structure upright.
  • Take Piece C and align its U-shaped notches with the corresponding U-shaped notches on Pieces A and B.
  • Push Piece C down gradually:
    • On the A side, simply press C down.
    • On the B side, push C down while simultaneously pulling B up (since B does not have ground support and may shift).
    • Alternate between sides, pushing little by little, until C is fully seated.
  • Once Piece C is all the way down, listen for a subtle click and verify that the top of C is flush with the tops of A and B. If it’s not perfectly flush, apply pressure or use a mallet to ensure proper alignment.
Watch how the piece slides into place. You'll know Piece C is installed correctly when the top is flush with A and B.

Install Piece D

  • Lay the bookshelf on its back.
  • Hold Piece D so that its notches face downward
    • Since the bookshelf is lying on its back, stand at the bottom edge and ensure the grooves are facing you before inserting.
  • Insert Piece D from the top down, aligning it with the U-shaped notches on Pieces A and B.
  • Push it down gradually until it passes through Piece C and emerges on the other side.
    • The plywood of Piece C will slot into the grooves of Piece D, locking it in place and preventing it from coming out.
  • Continue pushing until Piece D is fully seated, flush with A and B, and you hear a click.
This step is crucial for securing Piece D properly—if the grooves are facing the wrong direction, it will not lock in place.

02Assemble the Drawer

Install Screws on the Front Panel

  • Lay the Front Panel flat. It has three white plastic inserts.
  • Insert screws into these inserts, it's Important to ensure the screw lip meets the plastic without over-tightening. If there is a gap between the screw lip and the plastic, the back Panel won't sit flush.
  • Repeat for the Back Panel.
The screws should be twisted in until snug but not forced beyond that point to avoid damaging the plastic inserts.

Assemble the Side Panels

  • If dowels are not already inserted, place them in the two inner holes on each side of the Large Side Panel.
  • Align the groove on the Back Panel with the groove on the Large Side Panel with the dowels inserted and align the holes for the screws.
  • Place cam locks into the holes, ensuring the arrow points toward the screw, then rotate clockwise to secure.
Important: The video shows the correct orientation of the cam locks. Always make sure the arrow points toward the screw before tightening.

Insert the Bottom Panel and Small Side

  • Slide the quarter-inch plywood bottom panel into the grooves of the assembled sides.
  • Then grab the small side panel, making sure its dowel is inserted (1 dowel), insert it into the screw of the Front Panel, the dowel has a corresponding hole in front panel as well.
  • Place cam locks into the holes and rotate clockwise.
Note how the bottom panel slides easily into the grooves when properly aligned. No force should be needed if parts are positioned correctly.

Attach the Back Panel

  • Place the Back Panel onto the assembled structure, aligning the screws and dowels.
  • Tap gently with a mallet if needed, then secure using cam locks. Ensure the arrow on each cam lock points toward the screw before locking.
Success! Once all cam locks are tightened as shown in the video, your drawer is fully assembled and ready to install into the main unit.

03Install the Drawer and Lid

Final Assembly

  • Fully extend the rails from Piece C, making sure the silver inner guides are completely pulled out.
  • Align the drawer with the rails and carefully push it in.
  • You should hear two clicks when it locks in place. The first insertion might feel stiff, but it will smooth out over time.
  • The hinges on the lid have hooks that need to be aligned with the hinge slots on Piece C.
  • Align the hooks and push the lid inward until it clicks into place.
  • The gap between the lid and the front panel can be adjusted using the screw on top of the hinge.
The video demonstrates both drawer installation and lid attachment. Listen for the clicks that indicate proper installation of each component.
